This is the story of Dr. Sally Blake and Dr. Luke Forrester. It takes place primarily in the Australian Outback where Sally works as a pilot for Blake's Charters, her parents' company. As well as being a doctor, Luke is a wealthy businessman and entrepreneur and he is planning to buy the company leaving Sally without a job. He arrives in Australia and learns that Sally is to be his flying doctor and Outback guide while he is there. Their story is fascinating. There's a tension from the first time they meet - partly due to sexual attraction and partly from Sally's anger that the company to which she has given her heart and soul is to be sold to this foreigner. The setting in the wildness of the Outback is bigger than life and it captivates you as a reader.

Dr. Sally Blake is one busy woman. She is so much on the go that everyone beholds her with amazement. As well as being a partner in a clinic in Alice, her most favorite and time-consuming job is helping the Aboriginals of the outback. Their health is so poor, and Sally feels she can do much to help them. Over the years, she and the Aboriginals have developed a very close bond. They love her for what she does for them, and she loves them. She wouldn’t be able to do her work if it wasn’t for her parent’s business, Blake’s Charters. In her daily work, Sally crosses many kilometers, too many to travel by ground. Sally knows how lucky she is, and she is content and secure in her life...until the unthinkable happens. Her parents are selling Blake’s Charters, and the plane along with it. They do not discuss it with her, nor do they even tell her their intentions to sell until the buyer shows up to complete the deal. The buyer is the man she has been hired to escort around the outback for the next few months, Dr. Luke Forrester. All at once, Sally has to deal with a bombardment of overpowering feelings: betrayal by her parents, worry and concern about how she can continue her much valued work…and her intense attraction to the very man who can shatter her plans, dreams and ability to help the Aboriginals. How will Sally cope with the tumult her life has suddenly been thrown into? Can Sally balance her attraction to Luke and her medical duties? Will she be able to continue to help the Aboriginals?
