Dr. Ryan Wade is a single father. His former wife is determined to take his children from him. He is willing to do anything necessary to keep his children, even if it means entering into a marriage of convenience. When his new nurse Tara Mason suggests that he might have a better chance in court if he was married, Dr. Wade proposes to her. He never expected to fall in love with his temporary wife.
Tara Mason has a secret. She is running away from her past. When she learned about a job located in the wilds of the High Country she jumps at it.

Christina Carlisle slowly develops the relationship between Ryan and Tara until their passion jumps off the page. Two people who hardly know each other find themselves falling deeply in love. As they finally admit their love for each other, Tara's dark secret catches up with her and threatens their new love. The plot twists will keep the reader breathless. I look forward to reading more books written by this author.

"This story kept me involved from page one, and I finished the book in one sitting!"

Tara is a professional nurse hired to assist Dr. Ryan Wade in the High Country of Australia as nurse and nanny to his two children. Intercepting a hostile call from his ex-wife within hours of arriving at her new post, Tara wonders if she has truly escaped her troubles or only traded them for more.

Ryan Wade is a complicated man. Darkly handsome, he is both tender with his children and patients and abrupt with Tara. Dealing with his ex-wife's nastiness and vicious gossip regarding his moral character, while trying to resist his attraction to Tara, make him moody and unreadable.

When they learn his ex-wife intends to remarry and sue for custody of the children, Ryan proposes marriage to increase his chances of winning and Tara agrees. Although such an arrangement would provide security and a possible solution to her problems, Tara is not sure how good a bargain she has struck. When Ryan believes Tara is having an affair with a man from her past, Tara's life and future hang in the balance.

I enjoyed the dynamic as these engaging characters worked side by side saving lives, discovering strength, bravery and compassion in one another, and falling in love despite their uncertainty of each other's feelings. Their relationships with the children added a wonderfully tender component to the story. The love scenes were well written and sensual. The story kept me involved from page one, and I finished the book in one sitting.

WADE'S WOMAN is full of interesting characters, an interesting plot, the dynamics of a small community, as well as medical emergencies. I found myself drawn into the lives of the characters, as if each of their battles and heartaches were my own, and even after finishing the book I can't help but think about the patients and each of their quirks. Ryan and Tara's attraction to each other, as well as working and living with each other creates a sexual tension that will keep you reading simply because you have to know how it all turns out. Christina Carlisle's WADE'S WOMAN is a story I could easily read many times and never tire of. Definitely a keeper!

4 Blue Ribbons - A book I would recommend to all my friends.
